The varsity boys soccer and girls soccer teams played their second and final games of the season May 26 while JV boys played their only game against Cobham. Varsity boys lost 3-0 while varsity girls team won 9-0 and JV boys soccer won 4-3.
Eleanor Benton (鈥21) scored four goals out of the nine total, with Anna Kim (鈥21) and Lulu Linkas (鈥21) also contributing to the scoresheet. Benton said these goals and overall strategy reflected the playing caliber everybody brought to the game.
鈥淭he score definitely represented how we played,鈥 she said. 鈥淲e played super well. It was 鈥 even though there were only two games 鈥 the best game of our season.鈥
Mateo Farina (鈥21) said losing the last game of the season, while upsetting, does not ruin the entirety of their season.
鈥淎 two-game season can鈥檛 really change the legacy,鈥 he said. 鈥淲hile it hurts, it鈥檚 also like, we know that it鈥檚 not a huge game, this wasn鈥檛 like ISSTs.鈥
Girls soccer recognized the Grade 12 athletes on both teams with flowers and a round of applause. As her last game on the ASL soccer team, Benton said she enjoyed tying together the season playing with athletes from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
鈥淚t was definitely a lot more nostalgic,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 know a lot of the seniors, especially in this last game, wanted to rally all the grades together on our team and just like, bring everybody together for our last game.鈥
